Dr. Stephanie Drummond is a pediatric occupational therapist with over twenty four years of education, training, and experience within the field of pediatric occupational therapy.  Dr. Drummond graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California.  Dr. Drummond has completed intensive sensory integration training through the University of Southern California, the STAR Center in Denver, and at OTA The Koomar Center in Boston.   Dr. Drummond has received certification to administer the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT), Integrative Listening System (iLs), Interactive Metronome, Therapeutic Listening, and The Listening Program. She has completed courses in Handwriting Without Tears, First Strokes, Pediatric Feeding, Brain Gym, Floor Time, Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT), the Zones of Regulation, Reflex Integration, and the Alert Program. She has lectured and given courses on sensory integration and handwriting readiness and intervention, infant feeding, and has presented to the Occupational Therapy Association of California. She has extensive training with feeding difficulties and sensory based feeding disorders, and worked at Toomey & Associates feeding clinic located at the STAR Center in Denver, CO directly with Dr. Kay Toomey.  Dr. Drummond holds the CBOT Advanced Practice Certification in Swallowing Assessment, Evaluation and Intervention and has recently completed her Myofunctional Therapy Certification.

Lidia Ayala is our OT Aide and resident dynamo who ensures that our clinic runs smoothly.

Lidia is crafty, creative, and forever seems to be moving!

She is a natural organizer and is always looking for ways to make our clinic as kid friendly and fun as possible.  If you have any suggestions or requests, just flag Lidia down and let her know!

When she is not working, Lidia enjoys spending as much time as she can either outside enjoying the San Diego lifestyle, or simply chilling with her furbabies at home.

Erin completed her doctoral research at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, in Boston, where she examined how individualized education materials facilitated a patient’s use of assistive technology.

While in Boston, Erin helped with an after school program for special needs children and their families. She also gained clinical experience in cognitive rehabilitation and the use of assistive technology in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

She graduated from The University of Mississippi with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. She graduated from MGH Institute of Health Professions, in Boston, with an Occupational Therapy Doctorate.

Erin completed her doctoral research at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, in Boston, where she examined how individualized education materials facilitated a patient’s use of assistive technology.

While in Boston, Erin helped with an after school program for special needs children and their families. She also gained clinical experience in cognitive rehabilitation and the use of assistive technology in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Alanna Flynn is a pediatric occupational therapist with over seven years of education and experience working with children.  She graduated from the University of San Diego with a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Neuroscience.  She graduated from the University of Puget Sound with her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy.  While at UPS, Alanna researched the maintenance and generalization of social skills interventions for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Alanna has two years of experience working with children and teens with ASD as a Registered Behavioral Technician in both group and individual settings.  She has also volunteered in schools, clinics, early intervention, summer camps, mental health, acute care, and community-based occupational therapy settings.

Sarah Gilmore is a pediatric occupational therapist with over seven years of education and experience working with a variety of abilities across a range of settings.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.  She also graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the Boston School of Occupational Therapy at Tufts University.  While at Tufts, Sarah researched children with disabilities’ participation across contexts.  Findings from this research have been presented at state and international conferences.

Sarah has worked with children and teens of all ages (both individually and in groups) in school, clinic, feeding, mental health, and community-based settings – even on the ski slopes.  She is also bilingual and enjoys working with children and families who speak Spanish.

Sara Patrick is a pediatric occupational therapist with over seven years of education and experience working with children. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Occupational Therapy.  She graduated from the Boston School of Occupational Therapy at Tufts University with her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She also received her Certificate in School-Based Practice from Tufts University and has worked with children in the school setting from preschool to high school age ranges.

While in Boston, Sara was the assistant director of a summer camp for children with special needs with a focus on academic tutoring in literature and the arts. Sara has also gained clinical experience in adult inpatient acute psychiatry, outpatient psychiatry as well as multiple pediatric outpatient settings.

Jessica Welch is a pediatric occupational therapist with over eight years of education and experience working with children with a variety of needs. Jessica graduated from Loyola University Chicago with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She also graduated Magna Cum Laude from Stanbridge University with her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. For her master’s thesis, Jessica volunteered at a community-based aquatic therapy program for individuals with a variety of physical and cognitive impairments. She received the Exemplary Thesis Manuscript Award for creating and implementing a volunteer training manual and video for the aquatic therapy program. She also partnered with a local therapeutic horseback riding center for children and adults with special needs to construct a sensory trail. Jessica has experience working in outpatient clinics, pediatric inpatient psychiatry, community-based programs, aquatic therapy, and acute rehabilitation

Katherine (Katie) Rauch is a licensed speech-language pathologist and a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). She has over seven years of education and experience working with children with a variety of disorders and diagnoses. She graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech-Language and Hearing Sciences and went on to earn a Master of Arts Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.  

 

Katie has supervised and instructed graduate and undergraduate students, Clinical Fellows, and Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants. Katie is trained in Natural Language Acquisition on the Autism Spectrum, PROMPT, and the Social Thinking curriculum. Her passion for family-centered approaches to communication treatment emphasizes the importance of parental involvement and support to provide the most effective care of each individual child.
